The Hunt is back on as Predator stalks back on to the big screen this November for it's 30 Anniversary - CULT NEWS

Sadly whilst the home re-release date of Arnie's restored Terminator 2: Judgment Day's may have been pushed back, it look like his genre bending all out man vs creature action fest - John McTiernan's Predator's re-release is still on for 9 November 2017.

Ahead of next year Shane Black's new Predator film will be hitting cinemas so this announcement is timely - I am stoked with the announcement that to celebrate it's 30 Anniversary - John McTiernan's Predator will be getting a limited theatrical re-release this November as it is one of my favourite  action films, of all time as a hardcore elite military team go toe to to toe with an unknown foe - to discover that man may not be at the top of the pecking order.

It certainly seems as if we are having an Arnold Schwarzenegger comeback fest this year as two of his major classic action flicks Terminator 2 and Predator are being re-released - so new audiences can see them as they were meant to be seen and enjoy them as much as existing fans. The full announcement, images and trailer can be found below.

The Hunt is back on Predator Stalks back to the big screen this November

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Twentieth Century Fox’s Predator, Park Circus is delighted to announce the return to cinemas of this Schwarzenegger classic: the man vs. alien ‘rumble in the jungle’.

Predator (1987)
A team of commandos on a mission in a Central American jungle find themselves hunted by an extraterrestrial warrior.

Director:
John McTiernan

Writers:

Jim Thomas, John Thomas

Stars:
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers, Kevin Peter Hall, Elpidia Carrillo, Bill Duke, Jesse Ventura, Sonny Landham, Richard Chaves, Shane Black, R.G. Armstrong
Predator will be released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland from 9 November 2017.

Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) leads an elite squad of U.S. Army commandos to a remote region of the South American jungle, where they have been assigned to search for officials who have been kidnapped by guerrilla terrorists.

At first it seems like any other mission: Dutch and his team of seasoned combat veterans spot a guerrilla camp, destroy it, and discover that the men they were sent to rescue have been executed. But when Dutch attempts to lead his unit out, something horrifying and inexplicable begins to happen. One by one the men are killed by a mysterious adversary - a Predator from another world.

Directed by John McTiernan, just a year before Die Hard made him Hollywood's most sought-after director, Predator has frequently been called the quintessential action movie.

Empire has described the film as ‘a sci-fi and action classic’, and it featured in the Rolling Stone Ten Best Action Movies of All Time.

In addition to the UK and Ireland, Park Circus will be releasing Predator in selected international markets throughout Autumn and Winter.

Shane Black’s The Predator will be released by Twentieth Century Fox in 2018.

Major Dutch Schaefer is the leader of a military rescue unit looking for allies captured by guerrillas in the Latin American jungle. At first it seems like any other mission: Schaefer and his team of seasoned combat veterans spot a guerilla camp, destroy it, and find the men they were sent to rescue executed. But when Schaefer attempts to lead his unit out, with a captured guerrilla in tow, something horrifying and inexplicable begins to happen: One by one the men are killed by a mysterious adversary - a predator from another world.

Suddenly human enmities are forgotten, for Schaefer and his dwindling band of survivors are no longer the hunters - instead they are being hunted by an enemy who blends into the jungle and strikes with inhuman ferocity, and more than human agility and power. Stalked by the unseen foe and stripped of his sophisticated weaponry, Schaefer must rely on more than physical strength and modern technology. With the jungle his only ally, he will draw on his inner resources of instinct and intelligence, as he faces his greatest challenge: to stay alive.
