Conan the barbarianIf you read my blog you know that I have said that if you are going to go see Conan The Barbarian don’t expect Inception and you’ll enjoy it more. This got me thinking about the similarities between Inception and Conan The Barbarian. So here are 14 reasons Conan The Barbarian is exactly like Inception.
Conan the barbarian
1. Both Inception and Conan The Barbarian feature a lead character that is a professional thief with a particular set of skills Inception Inception has Dominic Cobb who has very specific set of skills that he uses in corporate espionage as an extractor breaking into people’s heads and stealing their secrets. In one scene Cobb and his team have to storm a fortress and break into a vault to retrieve an item. Conan The Barbarian Conan also has a very specific set of skills that he uses in Living, Loving, Slaying and generally being content that he employs to break people's heads and steal their belongings. In one scene Conan and his team have to storm a fortress and break into a vault to retrieve an item.
2. They both have lead actors who have a TV background Inception Sure Leonardo DiCaprio may be King of the world now but he started off in TV with roles on shows that include: The Outsiders, The New Lassie, Santa Barbara, Roseanne, Growing Pains Conan The Barbarian Jason Momoa is on the cusp of breaking into Hollywood but he honed his skills on TV shows like: Baywatch, North Shore, Stargate: Atlantis, The Game, Game of Thrones

6. Both Inception and Conan The Barbarian must had a script and story that confused the cast
Inception Christopher Nolan is notoriously secretive when it comes to his storylines. Often feeding the cast a script piece by piece. Most of the Inception cast are still as confused as us about the exact roll out of the story and the exact specifics of the ending.
Conan The Barbarian On reading the entire script for Conan The Barbarian I’m pretty sure most the cast must have been just as confused as us about the exact rollout of the Conan The Barbarian storyline and wondered if they were actually being fed the plot in a piece meal fashion.

Inception Dominic Cobb is driven by the desire to be reunited with his family. Whilst protagonist Robert Fischer (Cillian Murphy) actions are driven by seeking the acceptance from his father.
Conan The Barbarian Conan’s father was killed and he is driven to slash, hack and bash by a deep seated desire to avenge his death. Whilst protagonist Khalar Zym (Stephen Lang) actions are motivated by the possibility of being reunited with his deceased wife. 10. He must find a way to stop the abuse of the power to enter dreams.” From IMDB by Zaphod Conan the Barbarian Conan has Conan the Barbarian made in 1982 which is The epic tale of child sold into slavery who grows into a man who seeks revenge against the warlord who massacred his tribe.” From IMDB 11.
