the girl with the dragon tattooWe are having quite a week at The Establishing Shot tower. Yesterday evening after giving Kings Road a much needed boost with some last minute shopping I got in to find a strange package had been delivered. The mystery deepened when I opened the package to find a thin elegant hard cover book. Turning it over - revealed an embossed Golden Dragon on the front. Ahh! It could only be one thing. But no! the book title on the spine is Afterword. Even more curious the initials on the spine are S.L.

Surely it must be? Opening the book up revealed it to be Afterword Stieg Larsson: Four Essays and An Exchange Of Emails. More about that later.

Because someone had placed a piece of paper in between the pages as a bookmark.

On the bookmark the following had been handwritten:

72 21 3
Vanger-industries.eu

Vanger Industries is the empire run by the Vanger family. The family at the heart of Stieg Larsson and David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I love a good mystery. 72 21 3 – can’t be an IP address maybe it’s a code to be used at Vanger-industries.eu.

Immediately I headed over to www.vanger-industries.eu

The site requires a password and 72 21 3 is not it. Much like the characters in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo my next guess relies on solid detective work. OK! So Afterword page 72, line 21, letter 3? No! word 3 - “institutionalized”. Voila! I’m in.

Using the password institutionalized on www.vanger-industries.eu reveals a new clip from David Fincher’s brilliant The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Enter the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo #sheiscoming

Great stuff to be involved in even though other sites got this up sooner than I did. It is super awesome to have been involved. My review of David Fincher’s subtle chiller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo can be found over here.

Afterword Stieg Larsson: Four Essays and An Exchange Of Emails. Is exactly that four essays written about Stieg Larsson, giving some context to the Sweden Larsson lived in, his personal and professional life, the his Millenium phenomenon as well as an exchange of emails between Stieg Larsson and his Editor Eva Gedin as they worked on the Millenium Trilogy.
