Jameson Empire Done In 60 SecondsFive amateur filmmakers from across the UK are in the running to rub shoulders with some of Hollywood’s leading stars after making it through to the final five of the Jameson Empire Done In 60 Seconds Competition.

Mark Hampton, Philip Askins, Charlie Hall, Michael Hall & Oliver Graves and Matthew Brackenbury beat off stiff competition to make it into the top five for the UK and will go on to meet finalists from across the globe at the Jameson Empire Done In 60 Seconds Final in on March 22nd 2013.

From here, the hopefuls will go into a second round, where an international judging panel  including  Avengers Assemble star Tom Hiddleston, BBC Radio 6 Music presenter Edith Bowman and Empire Magazine’s Editor-In-Chief Mark Dinning will shortlist five Done In 60 Seconds entrants, who will go on to attend the Jameson Empire Awards on Sunday March 24th 2013.

Each of the budding talents produced their own 60 second take on a film to be considered for the final.

Charlie Hall, 30, London, started making films when he was 10 years old before breaking into the top five with his entry of You Only Live Twice.

Michael Hall, 32, Croydon first realised his talent after picking his family camcorder twenty years ago, and has been making films ever since, finally making it through to the top five of Done In 60 Seconds with his version of Robocop.

New Zealand-born actor Mark Hampton who now lives in Cambridge has appeared in a number of well-known British television shows, as well as Tomb Raider 2 and the forthcoming World War Z.  His version of Argo has made it into the final five for Done In 60 Seconds which was created at the same time as Mark worked up a script for a feature film.

Philip Askins, 25, from Stokesley in North Yorkshire made it through to the top five with Blade Runner. From here, Philip aims to go onto fund his short film ideas and gain as much industry experience as possible.

The Italian Job by film making duo, Oliver Graves and Matthew Brackenbury, both from London takes the final slot. The aspiring duo roped in an extended cast to help them with the project.

The UK finalists will each face competition from a further 20 entries coming from 14 other countries, all of whom will be represented at the Jameson Empire Done In 60 Seconds Global Final.
