The email alert for the opening of the fourth Jameson First Shot Film Competition unfortunately fell behind the back of the sofa, only going through my emails this week did I re-discover it. So it's a bit late but the Jameson First Shot Short Film 2015 Competition 2015 is definitely now open.
Jameson and Trigger Street Productions the team behind films like The Social Network and Captain Phillips are on the hunt for new talent and want to give you a First Shot at making your dreams come true and break into filmmaking.
"With a little help from Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti, three writers/directors will be selected to have their scripts made into short films by the award-winning Trigger Street Productions.
The Hollywood treatment doesn’t end there, as you will also have the life-changing opportunity to direct Oscar-winning star Adrien Brody.
Not bad for a first shot."

TRIGGER STREET PRODUCTIONS AND ADRIEN BRODY LAUNCH THE FOURTH YEAR OF JAMESON FIRST SHOT FILM COMPETITION
THE JAMESON FIRST SHOT FILM COMPETITION IS BACK FOR A FOURTH YEAR
In partnership with Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti of Trigger Street Productions, Jameson is on the hunt for the globe’s most gifted, undiscovered filmmakers with compelling stories to tell. Three talented winners will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have their scripts turned into short films and to direct Adrien Brody in the lead role. The winning shorts will be premiered in LA with the acclaimed team in attendance.

Knowing just how difficult it is to get a break in the industry, Kevin Spacey sees it as his duty to help young talent: ‘If you’ve been successful at the career you wanted to have, it’s your obligation to spend a good portion of your time sending the elevator back down.’ The Jameson First Shot team are harnessing their collective power to do just this. Dana Brunetti, a world-class producer who will be making the winners’ films with his experienced crew, concurs: ‘Any time you can open a path for people who actually have talent to demonstrate’ says Brunetti ‘it’s a wonderful thing. Hollywood doesn’t have a monopoly on talent’
Adrien Brody will play the lead in this year’s winning films. His own journey from unknown actor to Oscar-winner was far from easy, making him a natural match for the competition. ‘Jameson First Shot affords talented writer/directors an important gift’ affirms Brody, ‘the confidence to exercise fearlessness and the opportunity to materialise their dreams’.
Such was the overwhelming response to last year’s competition; Jameson is expanding its catchment area to give more unearthed talent the chance to enter their work. Entrants living in the UK, Ireland, India, Australia and Canada, in addition to SA, Russia and the US, are now eligible to enter.
The competition is open to entries and the rules, including length and theme, can be found at http://www.jamesonfirstshot.com/
