BAFTA Nominated shorts to screen online and in cinemasThis morning BAFTA announced their rollout of their 2017 BAFTA nominated short film viewing schedule.

     For the first time, the BAFTA-nominated shorts will be made available to watch online through Curzon Home Cinema. This marks the first time that audiences across the UK and Ireland will be able to view a compilation of all eight nominated shorts online prior to the awards ceremony.

     The nominated films, which were chosen by a jury of leading industry figures, represent the best of British short filmmaking, and showcase innovative and exciting British talent. The winners, as voted for by the wider BAFTA membership, will be announced at the EE British Academy Film Awards on 12 February at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

BAFTA SHORTS 2014 We are only 9 days away from the greatest film awards show on earth - I am of course referring to the 2014 EE BAFTAs. And with the EE British Academy Film Awards comes the British Short Film & British Short Animation award nominations followed by the BAFTA Shorts 2014 nationwide tour programme.

After seeing last years collection of brilliant shorts I highly recommend that you try catch one of the big screen viewings of these highly imaginative and inventive tales. Some of these people will go on to be the stars of tomorrow and this is a great opportunity to enjoy the labour of love of creatives in full flow.

 The feature-length selection of short live action and animated films from the EE British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) will be in cinemas around the UK from 28 February 2014 starting in London at the ICA.

Following a successful first-ever theatrical release of nominated shorts in 2013, BAFTA is partnering for a second year with specialist distributor the Independent Cinema Office (ICO), who will handle all UK theatrical bookings, and the British Council, who will tour the nominated films internationally through their network of offices in 110 countries.

The UK-wide rollout of BAFTA Shorts 2014 begins with a special screening at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) in London on Friday 28 February, attended by the nominated filmmakers.

After watching the 105 minute compilation I can highly recommend that you try get into a screening of the BAFTA SHORTS 2013 showcase as it is a chance to see stunning early work from filmmakers that will surely be the stars of tomorrow, given the high quality of the these 7 shorts.
