Romain Gavras Born FreeSinger songwriter activist M.I.A. may have released 3 albums, been nominated for an Academy Award, two Grammy Awards and Mercury Prize but will probably be known to most for a remix of her song Paper Planes used by Danny Boyle for his Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack and the controversial promo video for her song Born Free.

The promo was made by Romain Gavras, son of master political filmmaker Costa-Gavras, it features adult themes including nudity and violence and is a metaphor for exploring xenophobia, racism and and intolerance.
