Thankfully the plot and twists are still under wraps - even though we suspect that the Eugenics Wars may play a part in this latest instalment of Star Trek from from J.J. Abrams with the arrival of Benedict Cumberbatch's super powered villain John Harrison - we are holding thumbs that he heralds the return of Kirk's greatest nemesis - the genetically augmented super warrior Khan to the big screen.
A couple of weeks ago we got to whet our appetite when we experience what it is like being James Tiberius Kirk when we got to play the new Star Trek game written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (the same guys behind Star Trek and this sequel Star Trek Into Darkness) and I have been jonesing ever since for some Star Trek, earlier today we got our hands on two brand new exclusive images from Star Trek Into Darkness.
Both images show the opposing characters from Star Trek Into Darkness looking tense and gearing up for what will likely be a confrontation (of epic proportions).

The film grossed £963k in 23 UK IMAX cinemas during its opening weekend. 23 IMAX screens accounted for 11.4% of the film’s total opening weekend gross in the country, which was £8,431,574 from 554 locations. THE U.K.’S GARY LIGHTBODY OF SNOW PATROL AND BO BRUCE CREATE AN ORIGINAL SONG FOR STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Gary Lightbody of the BRIT Award-nominated band Snow Patrol and singer-songwriter and The Voice UK finalist Bo Bruce have recorded an original song for J.J. Abrams’ highly anticipated “STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS,” which opened in theatres May 9th. The duo is among a select group of artists from six countries who received a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have their work featured in the upcoming film from Paramount Pictures. For the first time ever in a Paramount live-action film, lyricists, vocalists and music producers from around the world were invited to add their creative talents and a local flavour to a track written for a major motion picture, which will be featured in the film during its theatrical run in each of the artists’ respective countries. Stardate 90830.47 STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS PARAMOUNT PICTURES CELEBRATE WWF’s EARTH HOUR As the UK prepares to go ’into darkness’ for WWF’s Earth Hour, Paramount Pictures is pleased to announce its support with a special ‘Star Trek’ themed light display which will dim as Earth Hour approaches. This amazing light show by Paramount, in conjunction with Ars Electonica Futurelab & Ascending Technologies, will see quadrocopters fly into the night sky, forming the Star Trek federation logo beside Tower Bridge on a scale never seen before. In keeping with Earth Hour's initiative, the quadrocopters will utilize batteries that were charged in Austria using green energy from the Austrian renewable energy grid specifically for this event. The event will coincide with WWF’s Earth Hour at 8:30 pm. Along with key landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and The London Eye going dark, the quadrocopters will turn off their glow in support of Earth Hour. To signal the end of Earth Hour at 9:30 pm the quadrocopters will reform the Star Trek logo above London’s skyline. The logo formation will hover about 36m (118ft) above the ground at the lowest point and the highest point (the tip of the logo) will be at approximately 130m (426ft) above ground. The total height of the logo will be approximately 94meters (308ft).
