If like me you aren't going to be at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Stella Artois have come up with a way for you to still enjoy the festival without the hassle of actually going.
Stella Artois have just crowned the winner of its Cannes Casting Call competition, casting Gustavo Alvarez from Buenos Aires, Argentina in the role of Jacques d’Azur, the legendary (and fictitious) ‘King of Cannes,’ in a biographical film about his life and to celebrate they are offering 3 EstablishingShot readers Stella Artois A Taste of Cannes pack.
Gustavo, 30, was born in BahÃa Blanca, a southern city in Buenos Aires province, Argentina. He attended St. Andrews Scots School in Buenos Aires where he participated in musical theatre shows and really started exploring his creative side.
Gustavo loves football and rugby, and also practiced martial arts for many years. He also loves dancing and can’t wait to film his on-screen debut as Jacques d’Azur.
In addition to playing the leading role in the film, set to tape in Uruguay at the end of April, Gustavo will also attend the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, to premiere the film at an exclusive Stella Artois event.

Stella Artois’ global search to find the perfect leading man or lady to star in the film commenced in March at http://castingcall.stellaartois.com/, with thousands of auditions submitted from around the world.
After selecting a short list of 200 finalists from both online voting results (top 100 favorite submissions) and a distinguished panel of judges (100 finalists based on creativity and acting skills), Gustavo was selected to be the star of the film.

About his win, Gustavo says:
“I couldn’t believe that I had been chosen to play such a fantastic part, although the pressure is now on to do this role justice, since Stella Artois scoured the world to find someone able to step into Jacques’ shoes,” said Gustavo, an agricultural engineer. “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I can’t wait to get started!”About Gustavo Alvarez

After filming his part in the Jacques d’Azur biopic, Gustavo will travel to the French Riviera to attend the short film’s May 20 premiere, to be followed by a party at Chez Jacques’ – Stella Artois’ sophisticated, invitation-only lounge at the Carlton Hotel’s exclusive beachfront property in Cannes.
