Portraits: Men of Style - MR. BILL NIGHY

He is ostensibly known for three things; 1. His entertaining performances  - he has just wrapped on Richard CurtisAbout Time and can be currently seen in Total Recall showing in cinemas now, 2. - His impeccable dress sense and thirdly - his outspokenness of bad fashion.

Bill Nighy never disappoints on either counts and some of his choice quotes regarding fashion include:
“Never trust a man in linen”.
“If you ever see me in a social setting wearing any sort of sportswear, then you know I'm in crisis.”
“If I ruled the world, every woman would have a Chanel suit in her wardrobe.”
On why he always wear a suit:
“Jarvis Cocker was once asked that. He said, "You never know who you might bump into." ”
Clearly a man of distinction, that maketh the clothes. It is well known that he has a penchant for Dunhill & Zegna suits and in The Establishing Shot: Portraits below he can be seen wearing one of his trademark outfits; a navy blue suit with a light blue shirt.

Recently in an interview with mrporter.com, he spoke about his sartorial choices, particularly his fondness for blue suits:
“I respond to dark blue more than any other colour. I resist black, I don't know why I don't like black, but it doesn't make me comfortable. I feel uneasy even standing next to a man who's wearing a black suit.  It's a limited palette for good reason. I've selected the things that please me, so it could be seen as a limited palette, or it could be seen as a distillation of all that's good.”
