The nominated films, which were chosen by a jury of leading industry figures, represent the best of British short filmmaking, and showcase innovative and exciting British talent. The winners, as voted for by the wider BAFTA membership, will be announced at the EE British Academy Film Awards on 12 February at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Jack O’Connell and Holliday Grainger star in new short film HOME to be released nationwide on World Refugee Day. - SHORT FILM NEWS

Jack O’Connell and Holliday Grainger star in new short film HOMEWe are huge fans of Jack O’Connell over here at The Establishing Shot, as well as Bafta award-winning film director Daniel Mulloy who you may remember from his work on the The VAIO Nation project (as well as his award winning film work), and fast becoming fans of Holliday Grainger after seeing her in The Finest Hours.

Immigration has become a burning and divisive subject, more so when politics and voting are on everyone's minds. And it's easy to lose sight of the humanity in the issues. Full kudos to the team behind Home for trying to put an emotive face to the subject. It would be great to see the same homegrown talent and their backers putting their efforts behind issues that affect the many people on the streets of the UK.
