Win with Suicide Squad Bluebeards RevengeIt would not be a surprise to anyone that I'm very much looking forward to David Ayer's adaptation of  DC Comics' The Suicide Squad which blasts its way into UK cinemas on Friday 5 August 2016.

What's not to look forward to? David Ayer is an intelligent talent who has written a number of fresh screenplays and has a directorial track record of serious dramatic action films made unique by the level of intensity he brings out of his cast like Christian Bale's in Harsh Times, Jake Gyllenhaal & Michael Peña in End of Watch, Arnold Schwarzenegger in Sabotage and Brad Pitt & Shia LaBeouf in Fury.

No doubt Ayers will be bringing a similar level of intensity to the Suicide Squad's already notable cast which includes: Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Cara Delevingne, Jared Leto, Ben Affleck, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Scott Eastwood (who is he playing?)

And whilst here is so much engaging talent bringing intriguing DC Comics characters to life like Ben Affleck returning as hardcore BatmanJared Leto as what looks to be a fairly disturbing Joker, Margot Robbie as the Joker's temptress bat guano crazy main squeeze Harley Quinn, the always on form Will Smith as the desperate professional marksman DeadShotCara Delevingne as the possessed and magical EnchantressJoel Kinnaman as the by the book patriotic Rick FlagViola Davis as the military sociopath that brings them all together Amanda WallerAdewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as possibly one of DC's best villains in recent history Killer Croc - I'm thrilled that Killer Croc has finally made it to the screen, a little disappointed it wasn't in a Batman film - but I'm guessing that Croc  ended up in Belle Reve as a result of trying to bite off more than he could chew of the Dark knight.

I have to say I've been constantly impressed by Jai Courtenay delivering the goods in every one of his roles and I can't wait to see see what he does with the small time weaselly criminal Captain Boomerang.

Most of these characters are less well known in the mainstream and unlike say Superman or Batman (who are essential to the DC Universe) the Suicide Squad are disposable - so Ayers has less constraints on what he can do with his story leaving him with, to some extent, a blank page on which to tell his story and we have no idea of where he is going to take them or even who, if any, will still standing at the end of the film so all bets are off as the Suicide Squad could go anywhere.

From director David Ayer (“Fury,” “End of Watch”) comes “Suicide Squad,” starring Oscar nominee Will Smith (“Ali,” “The Pursuit of Happyness”), Oscar winner Jared Leto (“Dallas Buyers Club”), Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Focus”), Joel Kinnaman (“Run All Night,” “The Killing”) and Oscar nominee Viola Davis (“The Help,” “Doubt”).

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

Written and directed by Ayer based on the characters from DC Comics, the film also stars Jai Courtney (“Insurgent”), Jay Hernandez (“Takers”), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (“Thor: The Dark World”), Ike Barinholtz (“Neighbors”), Scott Eastwood (“Fury”), Cara Delevingne (“Paper Towns”), Adam Beach (“Cowboys & Aliens”), and Karen Fukuhara in her feature film debut. It is produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Colin Wilson and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.

The Suicide Squad are a seriously messed up team of bad asses and everyone knows that the villains get all the best lines and the best looks - so it's not entirely surprising that premium men's grooming brand The Bluebeards Revenge, a brand I use and rate myself has been named as the official marketing partner for the Warner Bros. film, Suicide Squad and for the campaign have adopted the tagline: “Making bad guys look good”.

Besides how can you not love a brand whose line consists of a fair amount of facial hair products with a head of marketing called Nick!

The Bluebeards Revenge has teamed up with the movie for an advertising campaign in the lead-up to its release in cinemas on August 5, and is running a huge competition to give one lucky person the chance to win an exclusive private screening for themselves and their friends as well as other runner up prizes - see below on how to enter.

PARTNERSHIP COMES WITH THE TAGLINE: "MAKING BAD GUYS LOOK GOOD"

The brand has teamed up with the movie for an advertising campaign in the lead-up to its release in cinemas on August 5, and is running a huge competition to give one lucky person the chance to win an exclusive private screening for themselves and their friends.

During the campaign select products from across the brand’s range will bear promotional Suicide Squad stickers, with several adverts due to appear in high-profile men’s magazines Men’s Fitness, Forever Sports and Sport over the coming months. The Bluebeards Revenge website and social media channels will be co-branded during the campaign and the company will also promote the film’s launch via its extensive email database.

Nick Gibbens, Marketing Manager for The Bluebeards Revenge, said that the brand was thrilled to be involved.

He said:
Suicide Squad is a great fit for us, as it’s quite unconventional in that it centres around unlikely heroes. As a brand, we are also known for being out of the ordinary, with a tongue-in-cheek marketing campaign and an off-the-wall skull and crossbones logo, which is traditionally used as a sign of danger.”
We’re really excited to be a part of it all, and we can’t wait to see the film ourselves. It’s all set to be a very successful marketing partnership.”

Suicide Squad centres around a group of uniquely skilled super villains, already under incarceration in a high security prison, who are recruited into a top secret task force by a shady government agent named Amanda Waller. Nicknaming themselves the Suicide Squad when they realize their criminal pasts make them expendable, they are assigned to execute dangerous missions in exchange for certain perks only the government can offer.
