The Establishing ShotCompetitions on The Establishing Shot are like limousines never one around when you need it and then whole bunch arrive at once. Here at the The Establishing Shot we don't put our hard earned name behind any old tat so if we are giving something away you know that we feel that it is worth your time.

This week we are pleased to be able to give away the rather good thriller - horror The Tall Man from Director Pascal Laugier, you know, the New French Extremity guy behind the controversial, fiercely original and unbelievably terrifying Martyrs.

I really enjoyed The Tall Man it has all the hall marks of a great children in peril tale as a small town is terrorised as it becomes consumed with the legend of The Tall Man after a spate of child kidnappings occur - all of course with some modern and relevant twists that lift it intelligently above the usual genre fair. The Tall Man is steeped in a mysterious and chilling atmosphere and backed with some great performances - proving Jessica Biel can carry film if necessary.

The Tall Man is on Blu-ray and DVD from today the 11th March and to celebrate we are giving away 2 Tall Man Blu-rays.

The Tall Man is set in Cold Rock, U.S.A. - on the surface just a small town like any other. However, the residents of Cold Rock are quietly living with a horrible truth: their children keep disappearing, leaving neither a clue nor a witness. Whilst the police are no closer to finding out why, some of the more superstitious locals whisper tales of The Tall Man, a legendary, mysterious dark figure who takes children away never to be seen again.

So when local nurse Julia (Jessica Biel - Total Recall, The A-Team), wakes one night to find her son David's bed empty, all her worst fears are realised. Is the dark figure she sees escaping with David really The Tall Man?  If so, who is he and where does he take the children? And why do some of the town folk seem to know more than they are prepared to say...

Also starring William B. Davis (The X-Files) and directed by Pascal Laugier (Martyrs), The Tall Man is packed with plot twists and nail-biting tension, blurring the boundaries between horror and thriller like never before.
