See Guy Ritchie's homage to Ferris Bueller H&M advert with David Beckham

Last October Guy Ritchie brought us the entertaining advert for the release of COD Black Ops 2 starring that crazy guy from FPSRussia, Omar Sy and Robert Downey Jr. He must have enjoyed the experience as rather than bring us a feature motion film he has been working on this kinetic advert for the updated David Beckham H&M Bodywear collection to be launched this spring.

This continues H&M collaborating with top tier talent as they have done with Sofia Coppola and Jonas Åkerlund.

In the advert we see David Beckham attempting to retrieve his robe as he chases it through the Hollywood hills to Foster The People's song Color On The Walls, reminiscent of the scene from John Hughes's Ferris Bueller's Day Off where Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) is in a race through his neighbourhood's backyards to beat Principal Ed Rooney (Jeffrey Jones) to his front door.

So were the shots of Beckham in his underwear in the streets last year created to virally seed this campaign? Or is this a spoof of the incident?

Film director Guy Ritchie has shot a new film for David Beckham Bodywear at H&M, which sees David cast as action hero for the first time.

“He makes the perfect leading man,” says Guy. “For me, this felt more than a campaign, it was like directing a short film.” In the humorous ads, which debut worldwide on 6 February, David is captured on the streets and gardens of Beverly Hills, dressed only in his boxer briefs. “Working with Guy has been a fantastic experience,” says David. “I hope everyone has as much fun watching the film as I had making it."
